Ben Stokes' lucky mistake won the World Cup for England in 2019, and he yet again indeliberately displayed a replay of the same in the first test match at Lord's.

ENG vs NZ 1st test - Whoever can forget the controversial overthrow in the finals of the World Cup 2019, which ultimately cost New Zealand the World Cup and England won their maiden World Title. In the ongoing test series between England & New Zealand, English test skipper Ben Stokes showed yet another replay of the same and then caused laughter for everyone watching. 

In the final of the World Cup 2019 between them, England required 9 runs from 3 deliveries to win the match. Stokes pushed for a second run and dived to make his ground. The throw from mid-wicket contacted the diving Stokes' bat and went for four runs. The umpire gave 6 runs and England required just 3 more runs to win from the 2 balls. England tied the match and then the Super Over was also a tie, and England won the match and lifted the title on boundary count. 

In the ongoing first test match, England needed 161 runs more to win with 6 wickets in hand. On the first delivery of the 43rd over, Joe Root nailed a pull towards mid-wicket and called for a quick single. Stokes responded and then had to rush back on seeing the fielder dive to collect the ball. 

The fielder aimed for a direct hit at the non-striker's end and Stokes managed to get back just in the nick of time. The ball dribbled wide of mid-off off his bat and the batter apologized immediately. Joe Root also had a laugh on his face along with the New Zealand players. Even Root put his hands up, referencing to Stokes' apology after the ball went for a four in the World Cup 2019 semi-finals.

While talking about the match, the New Zealand captain won the toss & opted to bat first against England in the first test match. The Kiwis were bowled out for 132 runs in the first innings and went on to restrict England to 141. New Zealand managed 285 runs in the second innings and set a target of 277 runs. At the time of writing this, England are at 148/4 in the 3rd session of Day 3, requiring another 129 runs to win the match. This match is being played at Lord's, London.
