Belfast Wolves produced a complete all-round performance to beat Glasgow Cosmic by 103 runs in Match 25 of the ETPL at Malahide. After posting 187/8, the Wolves’ bowlers dismantled the Cosmic batting line-up and dismissed them for 84, securing one of their most emphatic victories of the tournament.

Glasgow won the toss and elected to bowl, but Belfast quickly established a strong platform. Paul Stirling fell for 3 early, before Harry Manenti and Lorcan Tucker combined for a 73-run partnership that shifted the momentum towards the Wolves. Manenti played aggressively for his 39 off 26 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes, while Tucker provided stability at the other end with a composed 50 from 45 deliveries, including five fours and a six.

Mark Chapman took charge of the closing stages. Chapman struck 54 from just 25 deliveries, hitting three fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 216. His 45-run stand with Tucker helped Belfast move through the middle overs and took the Wolves to 187/8 from their 20 overs. Liam Livingstone was Glasgow’s most successful bowler, taking 3/27, while Ali Khan and Paul van Meekeren claimed two wickets each.

Glasgow’s reply never gathered momentum. Finn Allen fell for 6 and Jason Roy for 2 inside the opening three overs, leaving Cosmic under immediate pressure. George Munsey made 10, but Glenn Maxwell removed the Glasgow captain soon after the powerplay, with the score at 42/3.

Moises Henriques provided the strongest resistance for Glasgow, scoring 31 from 25 balls with two sixes. However, wickets continued to arrive at regular intervals. Liam Livingstone and James Neesham were dismissed for one each, while Richie Berrington made 3 as the Cosmic innings slipped further away. Matthew Humphreys completed an outstanding spell, taking four wickets for 19 runs from his four overs. Mark Adair, Chris Jordan and Gavin Hoey also picked up wickets, while Maxwell contributed with both captaincy and a wicket.

With the middle order unable to establish a partnership, Glasgow were eventually bowled out for 84, handing Belfast a 103-run victory. The Wolves’ performance was built around contributions across both innings: a strong batting platform, Chapman’s late acceleration and a disciplined bowling display that kept Cosmic under pressure throughout the chase.

The result further strengthens Belfast Wolves’ position in the ETPL standings, with the side moving into second place and level on points with Rotterdam Dockers. The Wolves have, however, played one more match than the Dockers, making their latest victory particularly valuable as the race for the top positions intensifies.

Belfast’s campaign has been built on a strong run of wins, and this 103-run victory adds another emphatic result to their record. With their batting producing a formidable total and the bowling unit then defending it with authority, the Wolves have continued to underline their credentials as one of the leading sides in the competition.
