BBL 10: Sam Billings Powers Sydney Thunder To 177/5 Against Hobart Hurricanes

Sam Billings' 34-ball 50 helps Sydney Thunder score 177/5 against Hobart Hurricanes in the 43rd match of the Big Bash League(BBL). 

Thunders, after being put in to bat, started well scoring 40 in the first four overs of the powerplay. Usman Khawaja and Alex Hales had a solid partnership of 64 in 7.1 overs before Scott Boland took three wickets in the eighth over. He removed both the set openers and Oliver Davies in the space of five balls. 


Callum Ferguson and Sam Billings then put on a 68 run stand to make sure Thunders were set for a good total. Ferguson and Billings got out in quick succession in the 18th over. Billings' 50 came in 34 balls with the help of four fours and a six. 

Daniel Sams and Ben Cutting gave a solid finish to take the team past the 170 run mark. 

For Hurricanes, Scott Boland picked up four wickets in his four-over spell while conceding 41 runs.
