Renegades started well with the chase scoring 35 from the powerplay but Aaron Finch just before the end of four overs. Mackenzie Harvey soon got as well. Jack Prestwidge and Mohammad Nabi build a strong platform to the chase with their 42 run stand.

Earlier, Strikers opted to bat first and scored 177/7 with the help of a powerful top-order performance. Matt Renshaw and Philip Salt gave a strong start to the innings, which was then carried on by Alex Carey.

However, Peter Hatzoglou triggered a lower-order collapse after he broke the 75 run stand between Carey and Salt. Strikers could only manage to score 41 runs in the last five overs and lost five wickets.
