Bangladesh will look to level the three-match T20I series on Sunday, after the home side Zimbabwe stunned the visitors by winning the opener by 17 runs at Harare Sports Club here on Saturday.

In the first match Zimbabwe batting first scored 205 runs with a loss of just three wickets. Batters Wessly Medhevere and Sikandar Raza outclassed Bangladesh bowling after registering quick half-centuries. Raza looked more dangerous as he scored unbeaten 65 of 26 deliveries with 4 sixes and 7 fours and was supported by Wessly, who scored 67 of 46 balls and got retired-hurt.

Bangladesh bowling unit looked ordinary where only Mustafizur Rehman (2/50) and Mosaddek Hossain (1/21) were able to take wickets.

Chasing the hefty target, Bangladesh looked composed after an early wicket of Shahriar but they were unable to get past to the total due to Luke Jongwe’s two wickets in quick succession. For Bangladesh, Nurul Hasan (42 runs of 26 balls), Litton Das (32 of 19), and Najmul Hossain (37 of 25) were able to put some efforts with the bat against Zimbabwe.  

In the second game of the three-match series, Zimbabwe will be eager to win the game and take unassailable lead in the series against Bangladesh.
