Ashwin Suggests 'Free Ball' For Bowlers Every Time A Non Striker Leaves The Crease Early

India spinner R Ashwin feels free hit is a great marketing tool and has captured the imagination of the fans and suggested a 'free ball' for the bowlers when a batter leaves the crease early. 

Ashwin's suggestion came after former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar shared his thoughts of removing the concept of 'free hit'.

Ashwin has been vocal about his views on batters getting out of the crease early even before the bowler has loaded his action. A controversy erupted when he 'Mankaded' Jos Buttler in an IPL 2019 match. 

Ashwin is currently undergoing quarantine with the rest of the Indian squad in Mumbai ahead of the UK tour. The team will first play the World Test Championship(WTC) final against New Zealand before taking on England in a five-match Test series.
