Ace T20 spinner Rashid Khan will be leading the Afghan side in this series while Mohammad Nabi will also be providing experienced guidance along with contributing with both bat and ball. Azmatullah Omarzai showed decent form with the ball in the recently concluded PSL while Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran would be expected to bring out the fireworks. Fazalhaq Farooqi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Naveen-ul-Haq would be leading the bowling attack.    

Several regular players are missing from the Pakistan side as they named a new-look side for the 3-match series against Afghanistan. Skipper Babar Azam and wicket-keeper/reliable batter Mohammad Rizwan have been rested for the series, while players who performed well in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League - Mohammad Haris and Azam Khan are given a place in the squad. All-rounder Shadab Khan will be leading a young side comprising names like Saim Ayub, Tayyab Tahir, Ihsanullah and Zaman Khan.
