Sachin Tendulkar took a break from IPL to vote
Mumbai: Indian batting Legend Sachin Tendulkar voted in the general elections on Thursday, it was confirmed when sachin tweeted.
The legendary batsman, who was in the UAE as an icon and mentor to his former team Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Pepsi Indian Premier League (IPL), has returned to Mumbai to vote and mark his 41st birthday in his home city.
This is the first birthday for him after he the retirement from all forms of cricket in November 2013 . He played his 200th and final Test at his home ground, Wankhede Stadium, here against the West Indies.
He scored 15,921 runs in Tests, at an average of 53.78, and 18426 runs in 463 ODIs at an average of 44.83. Before retiring In his international Career

He had scored 100 centuries during his international career. In Test matches it was 551, which is the highest among any batsman in the world. He was the part of 2011 World Cup winning eleven captained by MS Dhoni. His 49 ODI tons is also a world record.

However, as a sign that he`s got other interests after retiring  cricket as a player, he has now got indulge in the IPL-style football league promoted by MI`s owners Reliance Industries and IMG with the backing of the All India Football Federation.

A Legendary Batsman, Tendulkar is now the joint owner of the Kochi franchise of the team in the Indian Super League and has stated his intention that he will ever remain a sportsman at heart.

"I will always remain a sportsman at heart who is keen to positively impact the sporting fabric of the nation. The Indian Super League presents a great opportunity to develop a platform for the youngsters to learn and enhance their talent to develop into outstanding players.
