Jacquet moves to Anfield after advancing through the youth ranks at Rennes to make 33 senior appearances. Twenty-one of those came during the past 2025-26 campaign, which was cut short for the centre-back due to a shoulder injury sustained in February.

The Premier League club reached an agreement for the 20-year-old in January, and he has now signed a five-year contract at Anfield with the option of a further 12 months, subject to international clearance.

The defender is expected to be available from the start of pre-season after missing the end of his last campaign in France with a shoulder injury sustained in February.

Jacquet expressed joy after joining Liverpool and said that it is a dream-come-true moment for the 20-year-old.

“I am very happy. When I see the facilities, I can see myself there. I feel good here, and I am very excited to get started. For me it’s a big dream, it’s a big club. A club like Liverpool, it’s a big dream for me,” he said as quoted by the Liverpool official website.

Jacquet had earlier displayed his rich potential at the U19 European Championship in Northern Ireland in the summer of 2024. He was a starter for France as they produced a run to the final and finished runners-up to Spain, including a winning goal from the penalty spot in the group stage. Jacquet was named in the official Team of the Tournament.
