The Asian Boxing Championships: India’s star boxer Aditya produced a commanding display to secure a dominant victory on Day 4 of the Asian Boxing Championships on Thursday.

Competing in the men’s 65kg category, the reigning national champion outclassed Saudi Arabia’s Mousa Alhawsaw with a 5-0 unanimous decision win, maintaining control and precision throughout the bout.

Aditya, who recently clinched gold at the 9th Elite Men’s National Boxing Championship in January, looked in complete command as he dictated the pace and showcased superior technique against his opponent.

With this victory, Aditya progressed to the next round, where he is set to take on Uzbekistan’s Abdulloh Madaminov in what is expected to be a closely contested bout.

The Asian Boxing Championships 2026 features top boxing talent from across the continent, with each bout playing a crucial role in shaping the road to the medal rounds.

On Day 1, Preeti Pawar and Deepak from India delivered an impressive start.

In the women’s 54kg category, Preeti, a gold medallist at the World Boxing Cup Finals, delivered a strong performance to win 5-0 unanimously over Kazakhstan’s Elina Bazarova, a former Asian U22 champion (2025).

In the men’s 70kg category, Deepak, who earned a silver medal at the Boxam Elite International 2026 and a bronze at the Asian Youth Boxing Championships 2022, performed confidently to narrowly defeat Uzbekistan’s Khavasbek Asadullaev with a 3-2 split decision.

While on Day 2, India's Priya registered a dominant 5:0 win while Jadumani Singh pushed the top seed to the wire.

In the women's 60kg category, Priya put on a clinical display to secure a 5-0 unanimous decision victory over Kazakhstan’s Rimma Volossenko.

In the men’s 55kg category, Jadumani fought a closely contested bout against Japan’s Rui Yamaguchi, eventually going down 2-3 in a split decision.

India's dominance continued on Day 3 also when Vishvanath Suresh and Sachin delivered impressive performances to secure victory and advanced to the next rounds in their respective weight categories.

In the men’s 55kg category, Jadumani fought a closely contested bout against Japan’s Rui Yamaguchi, eventually going down 2-3 in a split decision.

In the men’s 60kg category, Sachin also impressed with a composed performance against Mongolia’s Buyandalai Bayarkhuu. In what turned out to be a closely fought contest, Sachin maintained his composure under pressure and executed his strategy effectively to secure a 4-1 split decision victory.
