T20 is a format dominated by batsmen but it is the bowlers who make it more interesting. Bowling in this format can be a pretty hard and daunting task. Bowlers often find themselves in a tough situation yet only these situations help us in differentiating best from the rest.

Here are the top 5 best bowlers with most wickets in the history of IPL.

#5. Dwayne Bravo - He has recently become the first bowler to take more than 500 wickets in the T20 format. This is good enough reason to add him to this list. In IPL alone, he has taken 147 wickets in 131 innings he has bowled. He takes a wicket every 17 balls and bowls at an average of 24. He will be continuing his association with Chennai Super Kings this season too.

#4. Piyush Chawla

Another leg spinner in the list which has created a great impact in every bowling line up he has been part of. Chawla, in 157 matches, has taken 150 wickets at a strike rate of 20.82. He is also a part of the Chennai Super Kings squad this season.

#3. Harbhajan Singh

Some say T20 is a format suited for youngsters but he has defied this assumption in each season he has played. Every season, whenever Harbhajan gets an opportunity he makes sure that he creates enough impact in the match. In 160 matches, Bhajji has taken 150 wickets at an economy of 7. The off-spinner is expected to play yet another season with Chennai Super Kings.

#2. Amit Mishra

Leg spinners are often seen as the run leakers in the bowling line up. However, Amit Mishra has changed the world view of leggies from run leakers to wicket-taking bowlers. Mishra has bowled in 147 innings till now in IPL and has taken 157 wickets while bowling with a healthy economy of just above 7. He will be once again seen in the Delhi Capitals jersey in the upcoming season.

#1. Lasith Malinga Top The Chart Of Most Wickets In IPL

He is arguably one of the finest limited-overs bowlers to have played the game. He is best known as the yorker specialist and has an awkward action which the batsmen often miss. In IPL, the Sri Lankan legend has played 122 games and has a strike rate of 16; he has taken 170 wickets in total. Malinga is reported to miss the initial stage of the league but is expected to be back in the Mumbai Indians colors eventually this season.
