India will be up against Australia in the third test match to be played at Sydney Cricket Ground from 7th January 2021. The series is so far leveled at 1-1 with two matches left to be played.

Here are the top records that can be made during the third test match between India and Australia:

6000 Runs for Pujara:

Cheteshwar Pujara has so far been part of 79 test matches in which he played 132 innings. He has scored a total of 5903 runs with the help of 18 centuries and 25 half-centuries. If Pujara scores 97 runs in this test match, then he will become the 6th fastest Indian to reach the 6000 run milestone. Sunil Gavaskar(117), Virat Kohli(119), Sachin Tendulkar(120), Virender Sehwag(123), and Rahul Dravid(125) are ahead of him in this list.

Sir Jadeja to join an elite list of all-rounders:

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, in his 50 test matches, has scored 1926 runs and has taken 216 wickets. If he scores another 74 runs in the Sydney Test, he will enter the 2000 runs and 200 wickets club of all-rounders. So far, Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, R Ashwin, and Harbhajan Singh have achieved this milestone while playing for India.

Nathan Lyon 400 wickets:

Australia spinner is six wickets away from picking up 400 test wickets. He has so far played 98 matches in which he has 394 scalps to his name. Only Muttiah Muralidharan, Shane Warne, Anil Kumble, Rangana Herath, and Harbhajan Singh have achieved this feat so far.

1000 runs for Rahane in Australia:

India's stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane has played 10 test matches in Australia in which he scored 797 runs at an average of 46.88. If he manages to score 203 runs in the Sydney Test, Rahane will become the fifth Indian to score 1000 runs down under. So far, only Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, VVS Laxman, and Rahul Dravid have done this.
