Persistent rains in Bangalore on 19th June left the fans annoyed not because of the series-deciding match between India and South Africa was called off after only 3.3 overs of play, but because of the poor facilities at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The fifth T20I had to be stopped twice before the eventual decision to call off the play was taken: the first was just when the players came to the ground to begin the match and the other time was in the fourth over after which no play was possible due to intense rainfall.

While the stadium, under Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), boasts of having a sub-air drainage system that can quickly dry the ground and make the conditions playable for a cricket match, such quality isn't there for the huge crowd coming in to watch a game.

The roofs of Chinnaswamy stadium couldn't stop the rain and on most stands, the crowds were hopelessly left drenched or had to move away from the seats. Above a few seats, there were huge gaps that let the rain directly fall in the seating area.

People were quite annoyed and understandably so and questioned how BCCI can call themselves the richest cricket board if they can't even provide basic facilities for people to watch a game. The tickets for the 5th T20I started from the range of 750 INR and went as up as 20,000 INR.
