WATCH: On Fire Mujeeb Cleans Up Bangladesh Skipper Shakib Al Hasan; Grabs Top Three Wickets Inside Powerplay

BAN vs AFG: Afghanistan has proved itself to be one of the most improved teams among associate nations, having beaten Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the first Asia Cup 2022 match. In the match against Bangladesh, spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman spun a web which got rid of top three Bangladesh batters inside the powerplay, including captain Shakib Al Hasan!

At the spin-friendly Sharjah pitch, Mujeeb Ur Rahman was given the responsibility to bowl inside the powerplay, where he struck with three wickets. The 3rd of which came in the 6th over, where he cleaned up Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan. 

On the 2nd delivery of the over, Mujeeb Ur Rahman was using the angle, coming round the wicket. Shakib cleared his legs and went for a blind swing. However, the Bangladeshi veteran failed to make any connection with the ball as it went on to dislodge his stumps. Shakib was dismissed after scoring just 11 runs off 9 balls with 2 fours.

Prior to this, Mujeeb dismissed Mohammad Naim (6) in the second over with a bowled and struck again in the 4th wicket as he dismissed Anamul Haque (5) in the 4th over. While writing this piece, Bangladesh art at 79/5 in 14 overs with Mahmudullah (22*) and Mosaddek Hossain (18*) are at the crease. Earlier, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss & opted to bat first against Afghanistan in the 3rd match of Asia Cup 2022. This match is being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah.
