Kolkata, June 6 (IANS) The Indian cricket team on Saturday celebrated Ajinkya Rahane's 28th birthday after their practice session here on Saturday.

The session, which lasted for around one and a half hours, saw all players in the squad taking part except K.L. Rahul who is set to miss the Bangladesh tour due to illness.

After the training regimen, a huge cake was cut by Rahane inside the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) headquarters at Eden Gardens.

Rahane seemed in high spirits, and accepted birthday wishes from his teammates and support staff.

CAB treasurer and India team manager for the tour, Biswaroop Dey, also attended the celebrations.

Rahane has played 14 Test matches and scored 1,077 runs at an average of 44.87.
