London, May 20 (CRICKETNMORE): South Africa pace legend Dale Steyn will play for English county cricket club Glamorgan in the NatWest T20 Blast competition.

The speedster signed a seven-game deal with Glamorgan on Friday.

He is currently playing for Gujarat Lions in the Indian Premier League.

Depending on his IPL commitments, he could play for Glamorgan against Surrey in Cardiff on 26 May.

Steyn has taken 406 wickets in 82 Tests and have played in 112 One-Days and 42 T20s.

“The timing of this opportunity is ideal and there is no better way to prepare than playing in the IPL,” Steyn was quoted as saying by The England and Wales Cricket Board website on Friday.

Steyn joins a long list of world-class talent that will feature in this year’s competition.

They include the West Indian Chris Gayle, who is back for Somerset, while Kiwi hero Brendon McCullum will be playig for Middlesex.

Pakistan's Shahid Afridi and West Indian Darren Sammy will play for Hampshire.

Another West Indian Dwayne Bravo will be turning out for Surrey.
