August 23 (CRICKETNMORE) - Shahid Afridi blasted his maiden T20 hundred for Hampshire in a county match against Derbyshire. The former Pakistan captain smashed 101 off 43 balls in Hampshire's 101-run victory over Derbyshire in the Natwest t20 Blast.

All-rounder Afridi hammered seven sixes and 10 fours to power Hampshire to 249 for eight, their highest T20 score.

According to cricket.com.au, Afridi wanted to bat  higher up the order.

"I asked the captain and coach yesterday if I could bat higher up the order because seven or eight is not my position,” the batsman informed.
