It has been a while since India has played with a full-strength squad in the limited-overs format, especially T20Is. Due to injuries and resting several players, even before four months of the T20 World Cup, India is yet to settle on a squad and play with the same set of players.

Currently, India is playing South Africa in a five-match T20I series and is set to travel to Ireland for two T20I games before going to England to play three more T20Is. In between all this, India will play against England to complete the test series.

For the South Africa series, India is missing the likes of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul to name a few. While three of them were rested and went straight to England for the fifth test, Rahul has been out of the squad due to injury.

For Ireland T20I series, a completely different squad led by Hardik Pandya will play and be managed by the current NCA head, VVS Laxman. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer will join the test squad along with head coach Rahul Dravid.

India is scheduled to play three T20Is and three ODIs in July against England. With such chaotic scheduling and unavailability of players, BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly, was quizzed about the same for which he revealed that a settled set of players in contention for the T20 World Cup will be picked from the England tour.

"Rahul Dravid is looking into it. He has been planning to play a settled set of players at some stage. Probably from the England tour next month, we will start playing with players who are likely to play in the T20 World Cup in October," Ganguly said as quoted by the Times of India.
