It was the second win on the trot for Pakistan after a wobbly start to their campaign, having beaten Zimbabwe by 20 runs in their last match.

"Pretty much satisfied before the big game (against South Africa). We didn't want to be in a similar situation like we were against Zimbabwe. All the coaches and players have been very supportive to try and fix that," said Shehzad at the post-match presentation ceremony.

The 23-year-old also praised the knocks from Haris Sohail and Misbah-ul-Haq which helped Pakistan post 339/6.

"The way Misbah and Haris batted to help us get momentum will be useful against South Africa. We need to stand up as a team and play as well as we did today," added Shehzad.
