Bengaluru, June 8 (IANS) Skipper Pawan Deshpande and Anirudh Joshi of Vultures Cricket Club slammed double centuries apiece during a record fifth-wicket partnership of 403 runs in a First Division league match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here.

In the two-day game which concluded on Sunday, Anirudh joined Deshpande when the fourth wicket fell at 55 with 18.3 overs of the allotted 90 overs having been bowled.

The pair together went on to reach a score of 458 at the end of 90 overs. Deshpande scored 204 not out (258b, 3x6, 24x4) and Anirudh hit 212 not out (199b, 8x6, 23x4).

It was a record partnership and also a record for both the batsmen getting double hundreds in a First Division league match wherein the first innings is limited to 90 overs.
