Hyderabad, May 17 (IANS) Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik was on Sunday fined 20 percent of his match fees for breaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) code of conduct.

Karthik was found guilty of breaching the code during his side’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here on Friday.

“Dinesh Karthik of Royal Challengers Bangalore was fined 20 percent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday evening,” said an IPL statement.

“Match referee Roshan Mahanama found Mr. Karthik guilty of the level 1 offence (Article 2.1.8) of conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game. For Level 1 breaches, the match referee’s decision is final and binding.”
