Nottingham, Aug 9 - Australian coach Trevor Bayliss said he doesn't feel any mixed emotions after guiding traditional foes England to an Ashes win.
He was appointed as England's coach just six weeks before the start of the Ashes series against Australia and only met his new players less than two weeks before the opening Test in Cardiff.
England took an unsurpassable 3-1 lead after winning the fourth Test of a five-match series by an innings and 78 runs here on Saturday.
Bayliss said as a professional he has to keep his emotions in check.
"If the coach is showing his emotions then and making comments that aren't necessarily helpful, it just makes the players even more nervous," Bayliss was quoted as saying by a sports website on sunday.
"They are already nervous and don't need that negative feel from others as well. If the support staff are calm it allows them to be free of extra pressure."
Despite contributing to an Australian defeat, Bayliss said he was happy to have received a rapturous applause from the crowd at the Trent Bridge cricket ground on Saturday.
"I'm not going to gloat. Not in front of them (the Australians) anyway," Bayliss said with a smile. "I know how much they will be hurting in that change-room.
"But to be honest, especially when the boys took that last wicket and that lap of honour, the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up, which is a good sign," he added.
