Kolkata, Feb 22 (Cricketnmore): Nava Nalanda High School on Monday created a new record in a Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) school cricket tournament by blasting their way to 844 runs in 45 overs against Gyan Bharati Vidyapith.

Sreyash Banerjee top scored for his side in the Mayor's Cup contest with a 78-ball 193 followed by Iman Chowdhury and Dipanshu Sarkar who remained unbeaten on 179 and 176 runs respectively.

Nava Nalanda reached 617/2 in 38 overs, but their opponents could not complete their quota of overs within the given time period. 

Nava Nalanda were thus awarded 227 runs as penalty, which took their overall total to 844.

Chasing such a gigantic total, Bharati Vidyapith could only muster 32 runs in 11.3 overs.
