Asked at the post-match presentation ceremony if he would like to a have speed-gun mounted on the bat to gauge the speed at which the ball travels after hitting the willow in his hands, Russell said,”It is a good-idea to have one.”

The 26-year-old further said,” T20 cricket is all about having fun and expressing yourself and that is what I was trying to do.” Commenting on the match, Russell said he believed he could pull it off if he had Pathan’s company till the end.

“The way the game was set up, it wasn't the best of situations but we knew that if we stayed together, we could win it. I played the role of the aggressor,” he said.

“I have got a few good knocks, but I will rate this one on top. I want to create my own style, everyone thinks of me as a fun guy and I want to keep that going,”he concluded.
