India Senior Selection Committee: A wave of excitement and pride has swept across Rajasthan following the selection of Rajasthan all-rounder Manav Suthar in India’s Test squad for the upcoming Test series against Afghanistan.

Welcoming the announcement made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India Senior Selection Committee, Mohit Jaswant Yadav, Convener of the Rajasthan Cricket Association Ad-hoc Committee, along with all members of the committee, congratulated Manav Suthar on his achievement and extended best wishes for a bright and successful international career.

Yadav stated that the selection has brought immense joy to the entire Rajasthan cricket fraternity and serves as a proud moment for the state.

Manav Suthar has become the first cricketer from Rajasthan to be selected for India’s Test team in 12 years.

The first match of the India-Afghanistan Test series is scheduled to be played in Mullanpur starting June 6, 2026.

Prior to his selection, Rajasthan had produced only a handful of Test cricketers, including Salim Durani, who represented India from 1959-60 to 1972-73 and played 29 Tests, scoring 1,202 runs and claiming 75 wickets; Hanumant Singh, who played 14 Tests between 1963-64 and 1969-70, scoring 686 runs; Parthasarathy Sharma, who featured in five Tests from 1974-75 to 1976-77 and scored 187 runs; and Pankaj Singh, who played two Tests during 2014-15 and took two wickets.

Manav Suthar’s domestic cricket record has been highly impressive across formats.
