Hyderabad, Nov 9 (IANS) Mahela Jayawardene's gritty 118 helped Sri Lanka reach 242 after a sorry start against India in the third One-Day International (ODI) of the five-match series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here Sunday.

Sri Lanka were reduced to seven for two, before a splendid 105-run third-wicket partnership between Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan (53) brought the visitors back into the game.

However, poor performances by the others saw the Lankans stumble again to be bowled out in 48.2 overs.

Pacer Umesh Yadav took four wickets while spinner Axar Patel was just as effective, picking up three wickets.
