Nottingham, Aug 29 (IANS) Indian batsman Rohit Sharma Friday was ruled out of the ongoing five-match One-Day International (ODI) series and the one-off Twenty20 International against England after sustaining a fracture in the middle finger of his right hand.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee of the Indian cricket board has picked Murali Vijay as his replacement.

Vijay, who was impressive in the Test series, will join the squad in England at the earliest.

India take on England in the third ODI here Saturday.
