Quotes:

It was a very good performance, started by the batsmen. We batted very well. It is needed. We have to put runs on the board to give our bowlers a cushion. When you are batting first over here, it is not easy. It has a bit of variable pace initially and starts to get better. It is important that they stay in the middle and that partnership between Shikar and Virat was crucial. Raina went in and capitalised. The start of the World Cup will get you going, there have been lot of people who came all the way from India, there were lot of people in our hotel lobby too. That all really helps. Our boys had really good performance from both batsmen and batsmen.

I think they played really well. They posted a good total and bowled well. We lost momentum with three quick wickets. The pitch was really good. The bowlers came back very well. I think it was gettable if we could have batted fifty overs. I think a few batsmen got out early and we can't say much about that. Now we have to look forward. This tournament is important and we need to focus to win the next game and win the momentum back.

Amazing way to kick off our campaign. Great fight from Pakistan. It was a big game, and we are glad to get it under the belt. It is a really big compliment (on being compared to Sachin Tendulkar), expectations will be there when you play for your country. I hate to lose and I want to fulfill the expectations. It has been a tough one, but I am glad to get through the hundred. My role in the team is to bat through. The powerhitters will play around me. We have discussed our roles yesterday and I am glad I fulfilled my role. Shikar and Raina batted beautifully. The crowd support has been amazing, It was too loud at times, MS had trouble getting the attention of the players. Thank you for your support, we will work hard.
