# India declared their first innings for 566/8. Major contribution in Indian batting comes from skipper Virat Kohli (200), R Ashwin (113), Shikhar Dhawan (84), Amit Mishra (53) and W Saha (40). For West Indies, D Bishoo & K Brathwaite took 3 wickets each. 

# In reply, West Indies were bowled out for just 243 and they were not able to save the follow-on as well. Indian pace attack dismantled the West Indian batting line-up. # In their second innings, West Indies batting line-up once again collapsed and they were bowled out for 231. India won the test match by an innings and 92 runs. But this time it was not the pace attack but the off-spin of R Ashwin that did the damage. Ashwin took 7/83 with vital support from bowlers at other end. Only M Samuels (50) & C Brathwaite (51*) were able to defend the Indian bowling attack.

# R Ashwin won the man of the match award for his brilliant all-round performance.
