July 26 (CRICKETNMORE) - An important member of team India in shorter formats, Hardik Pandya becomes 289th player for the country to play test cricket. Prior to the start of the first test against Sri Lanka at Galle, Pandya was handed over the test cap by Indian Captain Virat Kohli on Wednseday.

It was a proud moment for Young Pandya who already played 17 ODI and 19 T20 matches for India.
