The 17-year-old from Mumbai, bought by RCB this season, was allegedly 'held by the collar' by Uthappa.

"It is not a major issue. It happens with a lot of people and has happened with him in the heat of things. The media should not blow it out of proportion," said Gambhir at an event where he donated Rs.4 lakhs for the Indian Ice Hockey team on Tuesday.

The incident reportedly took place behind the sight-screen at the Eden, when players rushed to celebrate into the field, after RCB won the encounter. It has been learnt that Uthappa has apologized for the incident.

However, match referee Javagal Srinath later denied any knowledge about the heated exchange between the two players.
