The 25-year-old, who was smashed for four consecutive sixes in the World T20 final against the West Indies recently, pleaded guilty at the court on Tuesday.

Stokes is presently on a break from national duty and is getting ready for the One-Day Internationals against Sri Lanka. He is still recuperating from a knee injury he suffered in the first Test against the Asian islanders.

Stokes also admitted to driving at an average speed of 61mph on the A1 northbound carriageway past some roadworks on the afternoon of August 26, two days after taking three wickets in the final Ashes Test match last year.

There were also two charges pending against him as the driver could not be recognised but they were dropped as Stokes himself admitted he was behind the wheels.
