London, Oct 10 (IANS) England stamped their authority over San Marino by thrashing them 5-0 in a Euro 2016 qualifier at the Wembley Stadium here.

Captain Wayne Rooney Thursday took his international goal tally to 42 and it was a cross that deflected off Alessandro Della Valle and diverted past a helpless Somoncini at his near post for an own goal, reports Xinhua.

Phil Jagielka, Danny Welbeck and Andros Townsend also got their names on the scoring sheet.

England now top Group E with two wins from two games and will take on Estonia Sunday.
