Brisbane, Jan 20 (IANS) England defeated India by nine wickets to win the third One-Day International (ODI) of the tri-series, also involving Australia, at the Gabba here Tuesday.

Electing to bat, India were bowled out for a paltry 153 in 39.3 overs with all-rounder Stuart Binny top scoring with 44.

Pacer Steven Finn picked up his career-best figures of 5/33, his first five-wicket haul, from eight overs while James Anderson finished with figures of 4/18.

In reply, England reached the target in 27.3 overs with opener Ian Bell top scoring with an unbeaten 88 and James Taylor making 56 not out.

The next match will be played between Australia and England Friday at Hobart.
