The 38-year-old acknowledged that coaching a team of adolescents will require a slight change of tack.

"(My) language will have to change. I'll probably just have to bring in an Xbox and an iPad and they'll be happy," Mascarenhas was quoted as saying by the Sydney Morning Herald.

Mascarenhas, who played 20 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 14 Twenty20 Internationals in his brief career, recalls his experiences with New Zealand players when talking to the kids.

"When I start talking about guys like Trent Boult and Kane Williamson, their eyes just light up," he said.
