Indian ODI Captain MS Dhoni will be eyening another record when India will take on Zimbabwe in the upcoming ODI & T20 series. The series consist of 3 ODI & 3 T20 matches and will start from 11th of June. Dhoni is just short of 82 runs to become the 5th Indian batsman to score 9000 runs in limited overs cricket.
Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Azharuddin were the other India batsmen to score over 9000 runs in limited overs game. If Dhoni fails here, then he has to wait for next couple of months for the New Zealand tour, likely to take place in October.
The last Indo-Australian series early this year proved to be a dampener for M.S.D. as he couldn’t reach the then margin of 168 runs required to reach the 9000 mark. The coming Zimbabwe series is very viable opportunity for him to seal his name in the history of Indian Cricket.
