Mumbai, April 5 (Cricketnmore): Chris Brown will be performing for the first time in India at the opening ceremony of the Indian Premiere League (IPL) here. The American singer says he is looking forward to a "crazy night" where he is excited to meet "all beautiful people" of the country.

The "Turn up the music" hitmaker will be performing at the opening ceremony of the ninth edition of the cricket tournament at NSCI Dome here on Friday, read a statement.

Brown said: "We are very excited to perform in India for the very first time. Looking forward to a crazy night of mayhem and meeting all my beautiful people in India."

Along with Brown, reggae trio Major Lazer and Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandez and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh will be performing at the ceremony, being organised by event management company Ferriswheel Entertainment.

"Bajirao Mastani" star Ranveer shared that his act will "honour the spirit of cricket and victory" and he wants "to dedicate the performance to all the cricket fans across the world."

Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline said her "act focuses on the intensity and the determination of the players".

"I am very excited," she added.

Katrina said that "cricket and Bollywood have always been closely associated, and what better way for me to show my support".

"Blue eyes" crooner Honey Singh, who was missing from the limelight for 18 months due to his struggle with bipolar disorder and alcoholism, says that with his performance he will showcase to the world how music and sport go hand in hand.

"I'm looking forward to put together a performance for all my fans. I'll be performing some of the most iconic Yo Yo Honey Singh songs," Singh said.
