Bhuvneshwar's Kumar took five wickets giving away 33 runs in his 10 overs as he ran through the Kiwi top order. Spinner Ravindra Jadeja and Pacer Mohammad Shami took one wicket apiece.

For the visitors, senior batsman Ross Taylor (36) provided some resistance but failed to drag his team out of trouble.
