Having played some spectacular shots off the Proteas pacers, the 17-year-old ran himself out for 43 in the opening match of the U-19 World Cup at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Wednesday, a news agency reported.

"I got off to a good start in the first match but failed to capitalise on it because of a silly mistake. My dismissal also put the team in a bit of danger," Pinak said after training at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium here.

"I will try not to make the same mistake if I find myself in the same position in the upcoming matches."

Bangladesh colts cracked 19 boundaries and six sixes on their way to 240/7 on Wednesday. But they failed to rotate strike regularly that prevented them from amassing a bigger total. Both Joyraz Sheikh and Pinak were unable to rotate the strike frequently.

"Taking singles regularly relieves the pressure. Otherwise the focus turns to big shots. Coach always instructs us to keep the singles flowing... will put more effort into that from the next match," said Pinak.
