# Ashwin has broken former New Zealand pacer Sir Richard Hadlee’s record of being the quickest to take 25 five-wicket hauls in Test cricket. He took 47 tests while the former New Zealand fast bolwer achieved the it in 62nd match.

# He became the third Indian after Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh and overall tenth bowler to take 25 five-wickets haul in test cricket

# With a tally of 269 wickets, he is now at number five on the list of most wickets for India in Tests. He surpassed Bishan Singh Bedi’s 266 wickets.
