He won the Man of the match award for his allround performance. During the presentation ceremony, he shared his feelings:

"I am not sure how many Man of the Match awards I have won but quite sure about the Man of the Series. When we ended the day 1 on 230, we knew we had a great chance in this game. It looked like a slow wicket from the outside but there was enough. We were bowling good lines and it paid off in a heap," Ashwin Said.

"We have a great comradery in the team. Nobody is afraid of speaking their mind in this team and that is being done by the top team management", he added.
