Lucknow Super Giants playing their first IPL season, came up very good in the tournament. LSG was placed at the third spot, after winning nine matches out of 14 in the points table. Due to Rajasthan Royals claiming the second spot after beating CSK in their final league game, Super Giants were forced to play Eliminator against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the knockout match, LSG were thrashed out of the tournament by RCB after they faced a 14 runs defeat.

In this match, RCB totaled a massive target of 208 runs against Super Giants in the first inning. Rajat Patidar scored his maiden unbeaten ton (112 of 56 ) and became the only player to hit a century in playoffs. LSG came out to bat and in the first over Quinton De Kock was taken away by Shiraj of the final delivery.

In this decisive match, right after the huge wicket Manan Vohra came out to bat at number three, this was quite a surprising move in a big run chase.

The instance got questioned by former Indian cricketer and now commentator Aakash Chopra who wasn't impressed by Lucknow's batting strategy, which as per him eventually caused them the match.

Even though Vohra scored 19 of 10 balls, promoting him over West Indian hard-hitting batter Evin Lewis wasn't a good move by the new franchise as per Aakash Chopra.

"We had said that Quinton de Kock has an issue against this team. We thought he will get out to Josh but got out to Siraj. But after that at No. 3, the surprise comes Manan Vohra. Personally, I didn't like that strategy at all. I was thinking, why not Evin Lewis? Why did you play Evin Lewis if you are not sending him at No. 3?,", Says Copra in a video.

"Were you holding him back thinking that Maxwell will get away with over there but Maxwell will bowl to Rahul also, he will hit him there. Even though Vohra played a good short 19-run knock but because of that Evin Lewis slipped too low down the order," he added.
