"Its been a long time coming. 6 years, 5th final, and I cant be happier. I did not do much in this, I am happy to be a part of this win. It does mean a lot to me and to all of us, to our families and to everyone back home. The last 4-5 overs were fantastic, we bowled pretty well. It was a great team effort. The bowlers were well lead by Lasith. Really proud to be a part of this team. Thisara always eases the pressure on you. India are always a tough side to play. It means everything for me, Playing for my country and my family are two most important things for me. There are no words to explain this feeling, the guys out there are an amazing bunch. I will miss this experience." - Kumar Sangakkara (Man of the Match)

"Congrats to Sri Lanka, specially Mahela and Sanga. Great performance from them. I am disappointed that we could not cross the line. One off day and this is how T20 is. I was keeping things simple and that worked for me. Last T20 World cup also I tried to do my bit. This time around I was playing well in the last few months, the most pleasing thing is that the team reached the finals and I was able to contribute in almost all the matches. They were brilliant in the last 4 overs, and when Malinga is bowling like that, there is nothing much you can do. It was a bit annoying  that I could not get much strike in the last part. It was one of those off days and they were bowling in brilliant areas. We are really proud of how we played, we did well in all the three departments. To show this character and temperament, we can take a lot back home." - Virat Kohli (Player of the Tournament)

"I am lucky to captain the last three games. The boys are doing pretty good job. Today we won, it was about 5 finals we did not well. We had to do something special for Sangakkara and Mahela. We wanted to plan the last four five overs well, Kulasekara and Myself did that well. We wanted to restrict them to under 130. I cant express in words, Sanga and Mahela are world class cricketers, it has been a great experience to share our career with them. It was a great opportunity for all the players. All the young players look forward to them. They still have a lot of cricket left in them." - Lasith Malinga

"In the middle overs we did well to get going but It was one of those days we could not convert the starts. Virat was holding one end. The pitch was under the covers for quite some time. It was a bit slow at the start. Most of our batsmen who bat at the death are not very innovative and they bowled the yorkers very well, if they execute it so well, we could not score runs. It was brilliant death bowling. Malinga has got that slingy action and it gets all the more difficult. It was a perfect game for Sri Lankans. They played good cricket." - MS Dhoni
