27th December, Port Elizabeth  - Inclement weather conditions in Port Elizabeth allowed only six overs of play on Day 2 of the second test match between south Africa and west Indies. S Africa were 289/3 when rain disrupts the play.

Scorecard - South Africa vs West Indies

South Africa ended the day with 270/2. The star of the day was Dean Elgar who brought up his 3rd Test Hundred and played a calculated and composed knock. Faf du Plessis is one run short of his hundred and he too has played a crucial role.

West Indies opted to bowl on a pitch that seemed like it might support the pace bowlers, but once the first hour was done, the batsman had it under control and the scoreboard kept ticking. Faf du Plessis and Elgar notched up a superb 150 plus run partnership and South Africa have been handed a great platform to past a huge total.

On Day 2, if West indies can pick up wickets, they will be in the contest, but if South Africa go on to post a big total, they may need to bat only once. Thank you for tuning in, good bye and have a great day ahead.
