Amir Hussain, Captain of the Jammu and Kashmir State Para-Cricket Team is a specially abled cricketer who lost his both arms in an accident at the tender age of 8. A big cricket buff from childhood days, Amir’s life story is an example of sheer grit and will power who never bowed down to the circumstances and walked on fighting against all odds and eventually emerged victorious. “A cricketer with no arms, it’s a first for everyone”, says Amir, who has decided to ask all the cricket lovers in the country to help him support his dreams of playing cricket for India.
The accident changed the life of Amir as his dreams shattered away by this unfortunate incident. His family faced a tough time who sell everything to pay for his treatment. Once the life of his area, Amir received cut off from his friends and neighbors but his family stood with him. A big fan of Sachin Tendulkar, Amir decided to live by example and worked hard on his game. He learned how to hold a bat between his neck and shoulders. He also mastered the art of bowling without hands and now delivers the ball with his feet. Amir also learned a spinning technique, using his toes in this process.
