Melbourne, Aug 8 (CRICKETNMORE): The city of Geelong in the Australian state of Victoria is set to host Australia's first regional Twenty20 International cricket when Australia clash with Sri Lanka in February, Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed on Monday. Tallawahs thrash Warriors to clinch 2nd CPL title.
The first match will be played in Melbourne on February 17 while Geelong's Simonds Stadium will host the second match of the series two days later on February 19. Adelaide will host the final T20 match on February 22, a news agency reported.
Cricket Australia Chief Executive Officer James Sutherland said Geelong had not only successfully hosted domestic cricket, but high-profile international football events as well as regular Australian Football League (AFL) action.
