South Africa - 123/4 on rain-affected first Day against NZ

March 25 (CRICKETNMORE) - South Africa were 123/4 at stumps when   in the third and final Test against New Zealand at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Saturday. Skipper Du Plessis was unbeaten on 33 and Temba Bavuma on 13 when rain arrived midway through the afternoon session to cut the day prematurely.

Earlier, South African captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bat. South Africa top order suffered early blows with both the openers went back in the pavillian with scorecard 5/2.

Ever relaiable Hashim Amla scored his 32nd fifty before being dismissed for 50. For New Zealand, M Henry & Grandhomme took 2 wickets each.

Proteas are 1-0 up in the series.
