Asked to bat first, Punjab post 198/5 with the help of Hashim Amla’s maiden unbeaten T20 century (104 from 60 balls) and captain Glenn Maxwell’s 18-ball 40. The two were involved in a highly entertaining stand of 83-run off just 33 balls. For Mumbai, McClenaghan took 2/46.

Chasing down the victory target, Openers Parthiv Patel(37 from 18) and Jos Buttler (77 from 37) provided a blazing start as MI raced to 82/1 in just six overs. This was followed by a blazing knock of 62 from 34 balls by in-form batsman Nitis Rana. Mumbai achieved the challenging score with 27 balls to spare and 8 wickets in hand.
