April 5 (CRICKETNMORE) - Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

RCB's captain Virat Kohli and star batsman AB deVilliers will not play this game because of injuries. Australian allrounder Shane Watson will lead the side in Kohli's absence. Two more batsman opener KL Rahul & Sarfaraz Khan are the new additions in the list of injured players for RCB and both of them may not be able to participate in IPL 2017.

With the key players missing in the opening match, RCB will depend on Chris Gayle, Watson & Kedhar Jadhav in their enocunter with Hyderabad.

Tymal Mills and Yuzvendra Chahal will lead the bowling department for Bangalore. Twenty20 specialist leg-spinner Samuel Badree, Kiwi pacer Adam Milne and left-arm seamer Aniket Choudhary are the other options available with the team.

Allsounder Shane Watson, Stuart Binny and Pawan Negi are also expected to contribute with the ball.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad will like to repeat the success of IPL 2016. The batting will revolve around three left-handers - David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan & Yuvraj Singh. Moises Henriques, Kane Williamson, Naman Ojha, Deepak Hooda and Vijay Shankar can also make valuable contibutions. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad Bowling

Their bowling line-up is one of the best in IPL. Ashish Nehra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Barinder Sran will handle the pace department. Rashid Khan, leg-spinner from Afghanistan will add to bowling strength. All-rounders like Yuvraj Singh, Henriques, Ben Cutting, Mohammad Nabi and Chris Jordan can contribute with the ball as well.
