Muchova, the No.14 seed Karolina Muchova, was a 7-5, 6-4 winner over Sorana Cirstea.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>This is an appealing rematch of the three-set final earlier this year at Roland Garros. The head-to-head record is 1-all.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>&quot;Well, for sure it&#39;s nice to have some challenges and overcome them,&quot; Swiatek said in the press conference after her match.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>&quot;It wasn&#39;t an easy first round, but I&#39;m happy that I stayed solid, and I could close it in the first set because after having -- I played two weeks ago in Warsaw, but still, I changed continents,&quot; she added.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Meanwhile, world No.2 Aryna Sabalenka kicked off her campaign by defeating No.35 Petra Martic 6-3, 7-6(5) to advance to the Round of 16.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Playing her first match since losing in the Wimbledon semifinals to Ons Jabeur last month, Sabalenka eased through the first set before having to fight back in a 72-minute second set. Martic led 3-0 and served for the second set at 5-3.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>&quot;Especially on this surface, I was really struggling with all her slices.I think I need some time to adjust to this surface.
